High Protein Breakfast Ideas (that are not eggs)
Hey Busy Moms!
Do you eat breakfast?
I start my day with a big glass of water with a squirt of lemon juice, a pre-workout snack: usually 1/2 banana and a handful of nuts and of course my coffee, americano, black.
After my workout and once my heart rate is back to normal I aim for a delicious high protein breakfast. This is usually eggs with my homemade salsa and some roasted veg.
I am a big fan of eggs, they are a source of high-quality protein. The World Health Organization (WHO) and other public health authorities actually use eggs as their reference standard for evaluating the protein quality in all other foods.
But sometimes, you want something different. My advice: make sure it is a high protein option.
Research consistently shows that eating more protein helps us feel full longer, in turn eating less which can result in weight loss.
Other benefits of eating protein rich meals include:
Reduced blood sugar swings
Maintaining muscle tissue and promotes muscle repair
It's a major player in immunity, hormones, enzymes, sleep, digestion, and even ovulation.
I hope you enjoy these recipes.
